The home of authentic Japanese martial arts!

Since 1997, Genbukan Sekiei Dojo has been providing instruction in authentic Japanese martial arts in the Sydney, NSW area. We were also the first Genbukan Dojo in Australia.

We hope you enjoy our website and will stop by and visit us again. This site is designed to give you information about our Dojo, the types of martial arts we learn, our Dojo Cho, and provide you with our contact details.

What Makes Sekiei Dojo Different?

Grandmaster Shoto Tanemura has dedicated his life to the mastering, preserving and transmitting authentic forms of Japanese Bumon (martial arts) and Shumon (spiritual arts).

His personal mission is to bring the once exclusive and secret knowledge of these arts to his students so they too may enjoy the mental, physical and spiritual growth that results from their practice.

The Genbukan World Ninpo Bugei Federation and Kokusai Jujutsu Renmei are the main vehicles of teaching these arts from beginner to master level. Sekiei Dojo offers instruction in these arts and we are the only official school in the state of NSW teaching those arts.

The mission of Sekiei Dojo is to promote the Genbukan World Ninpo Bugei Federation , the Kokusai Jujutsu Renmei and their associated martial and spiritual arts.

Grandmaster Tanemura has charged his direct student Chief Dojo Cho Wilkins to provide guidance to the Sekiei Dojo in NSW.

As students advance, other instruction may include: Bikenjutsu, Bojutsu, Goshinjutsu and Hanbojutsu as well as other traditional arts as you progress higher in the ranks.

Training at Genbukan Sekiei Dojo is for everybody with a good heart, right attitude, and a desire to learn. However, while all are welcome, our rules of association are very strict about whom we admit.

Due to the nature of the training and time, we regret that we are unable to offer classes for children or teenagers at this time. Therefore in order to train with us we have a minimum age requirement of 18 years.
